We offer cooking & catering services including cooking class parties, private dinners & catered events, including mobile paella feasts. We feature Italian and Spanish inspired dishes of the highest quality, and use locally grown and artisan ingredients.
Email us with the dinner that most interests you and what dates you and your friends are available. All classes start at $114 (varies according to menu and number of courses) per person (BYOB) and include detailed, step-by-step recipes. A minimum of 4 guests are required for this pricing. If your group is only 2 guests the cost for spending the evening with James is a flat $400 plus gratuity. For groups of 4 or more a 20% gratuity will be added.
We are happy to customize the dinner to your liking (below are just a few examples of the options available – we can do nearly anything Italian or Spanish). All cooking class dinners include appetizers and a fantastic dessert from Spain called La Quesada (think flan meets cheesecake). We can accommodate vegetarian diets.

Prepare a classic Pasta all’Matriciana with guanciale & San Marzano tomatoes & a Pork Saltimbocca

Prepare James’ very popular pizza from scratch and without the use of a electric mixer. We will make several different types of pizza, including a Margherita from Naples.
Learn how to roast chicken so that it is succulent & full of flavor. We will also show you how to make an incredible Caesar salad with fresh eggs.
Learn how to make light and super delicate Neopolitan meat balls with pork, beef, ricotta, egg & bread.
Learn how to prepare duck 2 ways. We will first braise the legs and then show you how to cook the breast so that it is perfectly succulent & moist. Served with roasted potatoes & braised greens.
Learn how to make the classic Pasta alla Bolognese. We’ll show you the secrets and also how to make gorgeous hand-made egg tagliatelle. Includes a salad of radicchio and mint & a main course of James’ very popular braised free-range chicken with prunes soaked in grappa.
Learn how to make James’ famous “comfort” pasta with San Marzano tomatoes, a touch of cream & hot pepper. We will follow up with a beautiful braise of Prather Ranch beef. The ulimate comfort food for a foggy San Francisco summer night!
Join us in roasting some beautiful quail (wrapped in prosciutto & brushed with “peperoncino” jelly) over a wood fire on a real Tuscan grill.
